As the year draws to a close, the ferry service is like that unexpected gift that arrives just in time for the holidays. Whether you consider it a Thanksgiving surprise, a fantastic Christmas present, or a last-minute Happy New Year’s gift, the ferry service is all set to make its grand entrance.

Initially slated for a late summer launch, the Miss Anna Maria and Downtown Duchess ferries encountered a few delays along the way. However, behind the scenes, dedicated efforts have been in full swing. The crafting of signs and modifications to ramps are in progress to ensure compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). It’s truly heartwarming to witness the commitment and diligence from all parties involved, inching us closer to the exciting addition of this transportation marvel.

Anna Maria Island Ferry Schedule

The ferry service will initially set sail on Fridays through Sundays, from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. The journey will feature three primary destinations: downtown Bradenton, AMI City Pier, and the Bridge Street Pier. These carefully selected stops promise not only convenience but also picturesque views of our coastal paradise.

More Stops on the Horizon

But the excitement doesn’t stop there. Plans are already in motion for a fourth stop at the Coquina South Boat Ramp, ensuring even greater accessibility to this convenient mode of transportation. Furthermore, preliminary discussions have taken place with officials from Longboat Key regarding potential ferry stops on the island, although specific details are yet to be finalized.

One-way tickets for adults are set at an affordable $8, while seniors aged 55 and older can enjoy a discounted rate of $6. Families traveling with children aged 4 to 11 will find tickets priced at just $5, and the youngest travelers under 3 years old can embark on this maritime adventure for free.
